    Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main invites for the conference Transforming Gender Orders. Intersections of Care, Family and Migration. This conference takes up the controversies about the transformation of gender relations in the course of globalization processes and strives for a discussion from new perspectives. The conference is organized in four panels covering three main areas: care, family, and migration. These provide the background against which we pose the question of whether gender relations and orders are shifting, how they are shifting and in what direction.

    Postgraduate School of Psychology-ASAG invites for Summer School in Applied Psycho-social Research in Contexts of Marginalization and Cultural Diversity. The School is designed as an opportunity for interaction between academia and civil society organizations, with the possibility to implement projects based on actual field research. The 2011 Edition is focused on the multi-method investigation of the single mothers phenomenon in Africa, thematizing its causes and psychosocial implications and envisaging the realization and production of one or more documentaries.
    Eligibility: 5-year degree (old system) or a Master of Arts in Psychology, Social Sciences and alike.

    European Gender Summit, Brussels

    The first European Gender Summit provides a forum for stakeholders from
    research, industry and policy to engage in an open dialogue to jointly establish a policy agenda for promoting new research directions and new ways for transferring ideas to markets that incorporate gender knowledge. During the Summit, participants will together produce a "Policy Manifesto for Integrated Action on the Gender Dimension in Science." This will represent the first-ever effort to establish collective agreement on policy development on gender in science for the enhancement of competitiveness and excellence of scientific systems across Europe.

    The workshop Gender Stereotypes and Gendered Attitudes in the Assessment of Women’s Work is organized as part of the awareness and capacity building activities of the FP7 SiS funded project, genSET (goal: to support European science institutions in promoting gender equality and taking action on the gender dimension in science in order to improve: science knowledge making; human capital development; institutional processes and practices; and compliance with regulation). The workshop is an opportunity for institutions and decision makers to be part of a knowledge transfer and a dialogue with gender experts and with other institutions in the European science system leading towards greater equality in how women and men are valued in science.
