Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) are aimed at improving the career perspectives of European researchers who are in the first five years of their career by offering structured training in well defined scientific and technological areas as well as providing complementary skills and exposing the researchers to other sectors including private companies.

Chalmers University of Technology is looking for 7 researchers in basic sciences.

It offers:

In the Research Training Group "Imaging New Modalities", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Siegen, the vacancies are to be filled until October 1st, 2009. The positions in the Research Training Group are limited to 3 years for research scientists. In case of a positive development of the individual studies, the positions may be prolonged in order to complete the PhD-thesis or habilitation.

The Amplifon Centre for Research and Studies (CRS) invites applications for a Scholarship in the field of Audiology/Otology. The Scholarship is intended to support a training stage of 2-3 months at a specialized Department (different from current affiliation) for trainees in Audiology/Otology of any nationality. Five A. PhD in Bioinformatics [Honours in Stats, Maths, Computer Science or Molecular Biology, and knowledge of Bayesian Stats, Bioinformatics, and/or Computational Biology would be desirable]

Three times a year, the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds awards approximately 15 PhD scholarships, taking into consideration only activities concerned with basic research and aimed at acquiring new scientific knowledge. The Foundation supports projects aimed to elucidate basic phenomena of human life. Botanical and prokayotic investigations are supported only if they are of general biological importance. Biotechnological development as well as studies on the course of diseases or the treatment of symptoms are not supported.
