The Universities of Bremen and Göttingen (Dept of Politics) and the University of Oxford (Dept of Politics and International Relations & Institute of European and Comparative Law) invite applications from scholars for a number of two-year postdoctoral Fellowships based mainly at the University of Oxford. The Fellowships are open to people of all nationalities who work in the fields of political science, law, history, sociology or economics. The only restriction is that the Fellows should work on the transformation of the modern state (broadly conceived) with a focus on Western Europe and/or European integration.

The Academic Fellowship Program (AFP) announces the 2009-10
competition for the International Scholars Fellowship. The program invites highly qualified scholars in the social sciences and humanities to consult at carefully selected university departments in the AFP region.

The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) offers up to four postdoctoral fellowships a year, including one specially designated for researchers from Central and Eastern Europe. Postdoctoral fellows´s projects should relate to the substantive concerns of the institute's research program. There are 4 research areas: Sociology of Market; Institutional Change in Contemporary Capitalism, European Liberalization Policies and Institution Building across Borders.

The National Humanities Center offers 40 residential fellowships for advanced study in the humanities during the academic year, September 2010 through May 2011. Applicants must hold doctorate or equivalent scholarly credentials. Young scholars as well as senior scholars are encouraged to apply, but they must have a record of publication, and new Ph.D.s should be aware that the Center does not support the revision of a doctoral dissertation. In addition to scholars from all fields of the humanities, the Center accepts individuals from the natural and social sciences, the arts, the professions, and public life who are engaged in humanistic projects.

The International Research Center "Work and Human Life Cycle in Global History" at the Humboldt-University Berlin invites scholars to apply for 10 International Research Fellowships (5 stipends for senior scholars and 5 stipends for postdoctoral candidates) for the 2010–2011 academic year as well as for future academic years. The candidates especially from the disciplines of history, anthropology, law, sociology, political science, and area studies are welcome. Applicants should be at the postdoctoral level or senior scholars. Postdoctoral candidates should have received their doctorate within the last five years. Proposed projects should employ a historical and transregional perspective. The project should focus not only on work/ labor, but on life-cycle as well. We particularly welcome proposals with an emphasis placed on Europe, Africa, and Asia and those that look at the entanglements between these regions.

The Turkish Cultural Foundation (TCF) offers fellowships to support scholarship and publications on Turkish culture and art with the goal to increase knowledge on Turkey’s cultural heritage in Turkey and around the world. Length of Fellowship is one year. Fellowships are open to scholars who are engaged in the research phase of doctoral studies and for scholars whose Ph.D. or equivalent professional training has been completed within the past 10 years.

The Michigan Society of Fellows invites applications to its postdoctoral fellowship program for recent PhDs in the humanities, arts, sciences, and professions.These three-year positions at the University of Michigan are open to recent PhDs who wish to pursue research opportunities while teaching at a major research university. Eight fellowships are available, with an annual stipend of $51,500. Four of these fellowships will be awarded in the humanities, with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Arts and Sciences Announces a New Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for 2011. The University is offering postdoctoral fellowships in the humanities and social sciences to begin in January 2011. These fellowships are designed to attract excellent scholars from outside the University of Pittsburgh.

The fellowships support (with up to € 50,000 per year) research on public policy with a focus on economic and governmental reforms.
