The fem_research_exchange is annual conference organized by an interdisciplinary group of researchers at Vienna University of Economics and Business Economics. It is aimed at schlars, university students, and profesionals interested in the field of women´s studies.

The East-West Center invites graduate students from all around the world to submit papers for the 6th International Graduate Student Conference, taking place in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA on February 15-18, 2007. The Conference will provide an opportunity to share perspectives formally (through presenting their papers and attending other panel presentations) and informally in the warm and encouraging environment of the East-West Center in Hawaii.

Seventeen years after the onset of revolutionary changes in 1989, Central and Eastern European societies are still confronted with their histories. Memories and recollections of the past are contested and the past is painstakingly constituted through the interplay of collective construction, political bargains, reversals, rationalizing of refusals to come to terms with it as well as attempts to recognize the past and cope with it. Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) have witnessed unprecedented spatial and population shifts and splits which marked the 20th century globally. Many minorities which were often local majorities or equal in number were left in the aftermath of wars as mere memories that quickly faded due to the rapid intrusion of communism. The process of building societies which are not just ethno-culturally heterogeneous but also open to all diverse groups has been contingent on coming to terms with the past. This process became the arena for opening ways to facing current challenges such as migration, borders dissolution and violation of local social and economic balances.

The ECPR is pleased to announce its first Graduate Conference, which will take place at the University of Essex from 7-9 September 2006 and will run in alternate years. All panels, round tables, registration and the book exhibition will be located at the University of Essex, and campus accommodation will be available. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to come together from all over Europe to share their work and experience by presenting papers or by simply observing, and as with all ECPR conferences, there will be a number of social events.

The Organizing Committee of the 3rd IEU International Student Conference seeks papers on Empirical Models in Social Sciences from all disciplines in social sciences such as business administration, economics, international relations, logistics, political economy, and sociology.

ICISTM aims to provide a forum for presentation of new research results and demonstration of new systems and techniques in the broad field of information management. The conference aims to bring together developers, users, academicians and researchers in the Information technology and business community for sharing and exploring new vistas of research and development and to discuss emerging issues facing business organizations in the knowledge economy.

Abstracts and workshop proposals are invited which address the conference themes: Extended families: families across households, living apart together, beyond parent-child relationships, adoption and fostering; Beyond kinship: civil partnerships, cohabitation, families of choice, friendship; Examining transitions; family breakdown, new families, changing families; Theorising extended and extending families; Challenges for law, policy and practice; New reproductive technologies; International inequalities in families across the life course.
