The Committee of the Regions of the European Union (CoR) is organising an annual doctoral thesis competition on local and regional authorities in the European Union.

Ministerstvo zemědělství ve spolupráci s Českou akademií zemědělských věd vyhlašuje veřejnou soutěž o nejlepší realizovaný výsledek výzkumu a experimentálního vývoje.

Nadační fond Karla Janečka na podporu vědy a výzkumu (NFKJ) vyhlašuje 2. ročník grantové soutěže určené mladým vědcům a vědkyním do 40 let pro rok 2012, a to pro obory ekonomie, matematiky a medicíny. Podpořen bude jeden projekt z každé oblasti, a to každý ve výši nejvýše 1 milion Kč.

Mezinárodní program For Women in Science, na kterém spolupracují společnost L’Oréal a UNESCO, nabízí mladým vědkyním stipendium, které má za cíl podporovat mezikulturní spolupráci ve vědeckém výzkumu.

Za rok 2012 budou udělena tři stipendia – každé ve výši Kč 250 000,- českým ženám pracujícím ve vědeckém výzkumu v oblasti matematicko-fyzikálních, technických, chemických, biologických a lékařských věd, věkový limit je 35 let, včetně.

The 9th Biennial Conference of European Communities Studies Association – Canada (ECSA-C) will explore how the EU and its member states will deal with these challenges at a time when financial resources are scarce. There will be three best paper awards, which, subject to ECSA-C board approval, will carry cash prizes of $500. The proposed awards are for: Best conference paper; Best paper on EU governance; Best student paper.

The Dan David Prize laureates annually donate twenty scholarships of US$15,000 each to outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral students of exceptional promise in the chosen fields for the current year. The Committee of the Regions holds a thesis competition under the theme "Local and regional authorities in the European Union" in order to promote dialogue with academics across Europe. The competition aims to reward doctoral theses defended at a university in an EU Member State. The competition is opened to the holders of a doctorate obtained at a university in an EU country.The theses must be written in one of the EU's official languages. The winner of the first prize will receive EUR 6000. The selection board may also award up to four merit prizes of EUR 2000.
