The European Survey Research Association (ESRA) organizes the 4th conference. Proposals are invited in any area of survey methodology, or in substantive areas of survey research. We particularly welcome submissions in the following areas: Sampling and sample design; Web surveys; Unit Nonresponse and attrition; Item nonresponse; Weighting and imputation; Question testing and piloting; Survey mode; Data linkage; Election polling and public opinion; Survey analysis techniques; Methods for cross-national analysis; Paradata and fieldwork; Substantive applications; Longitudinal surveys; Data archiving.

Researchers within five years of the completion of their doctorate or within five years of starting a career in survey research who wish to be considered for the ESRA Early-Career Researcher award should submit full papers to the prize committee. The winning paper will be awarded a prize of 600 euros.

Frankfurt Research Center for Postcolonial Studies Cluster of Excellence 'The Formation of Normative Orders', Goethe-University Frankfurt, invites for the conference Colonial Legacies, Postcolonial Contestations: Decolonizing the Social Sciences and the Humanities. The conference’s goals are twofold: first, the organizers seek to illustrate the epistemological and methodological relevance of a postcolonial (feminist) perspective within the various disciplines of the Social Sciences and the Humanities by example of concrete research projects; second, the conference aims to facilitate (trans-) disciplinary networking.
The conference is conceived of as a graduate conference for early career researchers; contributions with a reference to postcolonial (feminist) theory from advanced students, doctoral candidates and postdocs in the Social Sciences and the Humanities are most welcome.

The two-week Winter School welcomes an international audience:
young researchers and academics, post-graduate or undergraduate students, civil servants from a local, regional or national government as well as employees of international organizations or NGOs.
The second edition of the Winter School on Federalism and Governance takes place from 31 January until 11 February 2011 and focuses on Cross-border Cooperation (CBC). The Winter School was honoured by the patronage of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr Thorbjørn Jagland.

Therefore, the Erasmus Observatory organizes an international conference, discussing health care rationing from a wide range of perspectives.

We are excited to announce the BMW Center for German and European Studies  2011 Graduate Student Conference, which will be held at Georgetown University in Washington, DC on February 4-5, 2011. The theme of this year's conference is "A Changing Europe: Looking Back and Moving Forward," and we are seeking graduate student papers (Masters or Doctoral) from a wide range of disciplines.
