The journal will explore the topic “Mothering: Mothering, Violence, Militarism” from a variety of perspectives and disciplines. The editors welcome submissions from scholars, students, social workers, anti-violence activists and other professionals and community workers. Cross-cultural, historical and comparative work is encouraged. They also welcome creative reflections such as poetry, short stories, and artwork on the subject.

The editors are seeking critical essays and creative works that intersect with or treat any aspect of women and gender studies, in particular addressing recent changes in, developments to, and current trends/issues in feminist theory and critique across all disciplines. They welcome submissions from all fields and are particularly interested in interdisciplinary research.

In-Spire is currently inviting submissions for its winter 2009 General Issue. The editors welcome social sciences and political philosophy articles on subjects across our core disciplines of philosophy, ethics, law, international relations, politics, the environment, sociology, gender and sexuality and criminology. They are looking for well-written articles with original research and particularly welcome inter-disciplinary work. The editors encourage submissions from established academics as well as young researchers in the form of traditional articles with critical research and academic referencing or book reviews. The conference aims to discuss gendered violence. The main questions are: How should be interpreted the gap between in-principle declarations on gender equality and the violent everyday life of women, children and men? What are the relations between violence in extreme situations in wartime, ritual contexts or fundamentalist groups (religious and other), and the violence exerted next door? How do queer, masculinity, postcolonial, and intersectional theories, and phenomena such as honour-related or same-sex violence, challenge feminist research on gendered violence? How can we analyse new forms of violence against women in the wake of international migration or in the backwaters of legal protection? The organizers invite to use this invitation as a source of inspiration, and send the abstracts for a paper on feminist interventions in contemporary research on gendered violence.

The AIECA 2009 Conference aims at sharing local and international experience about business incubation and innovation and building networks within and outside national and sectoral borders among academic researchers, business managers and policy makers in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The conference invites submissions of both academic and practitioner papers with unlimited range of scholarly approaches including theoretical and empirical papers. The organizers are keen to encourage submissions from both established and young scholars.

This symposium is organized by PhD students from the "Frontiers in Life Sciences" graduate school. It gathers Ph.D. students from different disciplines (biologists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians and computer scientists) working on diverse scientific projects allowing them to meet regularly so that they can share methods, ideas and confront their points of view. Based on these considerations, they are willing to organize this symposium bringing together researchers and Ph.D. students motivated by the same spirit. They propose to go across disciplines and address the issue of numbers in living systems.

This conference is to discuss how current philosophy of science can be brought more in line with the need to understand, analyze and contribute to scientific endeavours in its various practical and socially relevant uses. The conference specifically addresses young European researchers, both from within philosophy of science and related fields, and encourages them to participate and possibly present a poster on their current work.
