    Call for Papers: Impacts: Does Academic Exchange Matter? Cultural Diplomacy, Scholarly Internationalism, and American Studies since World War II

    The celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Fulbright Program in Austria in 1950 provides an excellent opportunity for a broader discussion of the question: Does academic exchange matter? The aim of this conference is to highlight the ongoing research on the various topics related to academic exchange and its impact and to stimulate further reflection on the state of cultural diplomacy, scholarly internationalism, and the their ultimate impacts on foreign relations.

    Rossiter Women in Science Prize

The book or article may take a biographical, institutional, theoretical, or other approach to the topic, which may include discussions of women¹s activities in science, analyses of past scientific practices that deal explicitly with gender, and investigations regarding women as viewed by scientists.

    International competition for the Stimpson Prize: Call for Papers

    The Catharine Stimpson Prize is designed to recognize excellence and innovation in the work of emerging feminist scholars and is awarded biannually to the best paper in an international competition. Leading feminist scholars from around the globe will select the winner. The prizewinning paper will be published in Signs, and the author will be provided an honorarium of $1,000. All papers submitted for the Stimpson Prize will be considered for peer review and possible publication in /Signs/. Feminist scholars in the early years of their careers (less than seven years since receipt of the terminal degree) are invited to submit papers for the Stimpson Prize. Papers may be on any topic that falls within the broad rubric of interdisciplinary feminist scholarship.

Research or study area: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Law and Economics, Humanities and Theology and Fine Arts. The type of grant is semestral or one-year. The duration of grant is 1 to 9 months. The condition for applicants is pursuing PhD programme, completing their studies or lecturing at a university outside Austria. Applicants must not have studied/pursued research/pursued acdemic work in Austria in the last six months before taking up the grant.

    European Science Foundation (ESF) and Linköping university (LiU) invite applications for conference Home, Migration and the City: New Narratives, New Methodologies. This conference takes ‘narratives’ – broadly defined as stories, diaries, myths, photographs, music, films, media images and representations of movement – as the analytical starting point for new research on migration. It aims to question and compare such narratives and counter-narratives, in different contexts within Europe and beyond, through interdisciplinary perspectives from the humanities and social sciences.
    Grants are available for students and early stage researchers to cover the conference fee and possibly part of the travel costs.

V novém ročníku mohou vědkyně získat až 3 roční stipendia v částce 200.000,- Kč pro každou z laureátek. Cílem stipendia je finančně pomoci talentovaným vědkyním realizovat perspektivní vědecký výzkum, s tím, že rozhodnutí o způsobu využití stipendia je plně na volbě laureátek.
