    University of Salford invites abstracts from both advanced research postgraduate students and established researchers for their multidisciplinary conference on 'The Governance of Asylum and Migration in the European Union', to be held at the University of Salford (Greater Manchester) on 26-27 January 2012. The conference aims to assess the evolution of asylum and migration policies in the European Union in a multilevel governance perspective. It considers both the EU and the national levels and the interactions between these levels in a multidisciplinary perspective and with the input of practitioners.

After more than two decades of research on post-communist transformations, a consensus has emerged that corruption is a major phenomenon associated with the evolution of the former “second world.” The purpose of this conference is to explore the analytical, conceptual and comparative dimensions of this phenomenon and to examine recent empirical findings and field work on corruption in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

    The Dan David Prize Scholarships
