The 2008 volume of the Journal has the theme "Effectiveness of policies and services for the homeless". The Editors welcome articles related to this topic.

The ECPR Standing Group on Gender and Politics invites panel and paper proposals for the First European Conference on Politics and Gender (ECPG). The conference aims to bring together scholars engaged in cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics related to gender and politics. Scholars from member and non-member institutions of the ECPR are welcome to apply. The program will include a keynote address given by Judith Squires from the University of Bristol, as well as a roundtable on current European Union-funded gender and politics projects.

This conference will explore the analytical, theoretical, empirical and normative dimensions of the various ways in which law has been used to restructure post-communist societies.

The 7th European Feminist Research Conference is an international event based on cutting-edge scholarship. The conference will reflect a diversity of feminist and gender studies research incorporating perspectives from across the broad spectrum of the humanities and social sciences. The focus is on the way in which knowledge, politics, and the imagination inform gendered cultures in contemporary Europe.

The conference will bring together researchers of society, culture and history to examine the interrelationships of welfare, gender and agency in Russia and Eastern Europe during the transitional period. The approach is more multidimensional than usual, because in addition to economic and social problems the agenda also includes bodily and sexual issues. They are viewed from an inter- sectionalist perspective, taking into account gender and, moreover, class and ethnicity.

The organizers invite social scientists as well as young researchers to take part at the plenary as well as research groups sessions which will be organized on the following sections: Social integration and social inequalities: conceptual strategies of investigation; Sociological dimension of the new social inequalities under the global and regional transformation: issues of diagnostics and analysis; Contemporary Ukrainian society and the prospects of its European integration; Class differentiation tendencies in Ukrainian society and class formations dynamics; Self-organizing mechanisms of social integration and development of civil society in Ukraine; Social policy for support of Ukrainian society consolidation and harmonizing of social inequalities. The round-table on "Indicators of Ukrainian society development on a background of the contemporary European investigations" will be conducted within the conference.
