    Social Psychology PhD Student Workshop, Bremen, Germany

    The SoDoc meeting at the Jacobs University of Bremen is an annual consultation possibility for PhD students in Social Psychology. The aim of the workshop is to provide an opportunity to present your ongoing PhD project and preliminary data, and to receive feedback from fellow graduate students as well as from experienced teachers. Participants will work in small groups (up to 15 students) with one of the teachers. Each group will have a certain main theme, based on the teachers’ field of expertise. You can choose which group you would like to participate in. The groups: 1. Social cognitive / Cultural Psychology (Teacher: Ulrich Kühnen), 2. Organizational Social Psychology (Steffen Giessner), 3.     The Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences (CDSS) invites students of all fields of study in political science, psychology and sociology to apply for doctoral fellowhships at the University of Mannheim's Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS). The Graduate School's special emphasis is on empirical and quantitative methods. Students profit from and take part in a vibrant research community created by the interactions of the School of Social Sciences, the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES), the  Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS), the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging (MEA), the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI) and the Collaborative Research Centre 884.     University of Sydney offers a full-time postgraduate scholarship (commencing in Semester 2, 2010) to undertake research leading to a PhD in international conflict. The project will investigate the roles of norms, political culture, values, and/or similar factors in patterns of interstate conflict across different regions of the world. The research will be complementary to, and in close interaction with, an ARC-funded project on the role of political institutions in regional conflict dynamics.
