University of Nottingham invites applications for these prestigious postdoctoral fellowships funded by the University and targeted at excellent women scientists and engineers, under-represented in these subjects (science, engineering and technology, medicine), who wish to establish a research career in the UK. The Fellowships will commence in October 2010

The Center for the Humanities at Temple University invites applications for the External Humanities Fellowship program in 2010-11, renewable for a  second year. Fellows pursue their own research, participate in the  activities of the Center, and teach one course per semester, with no teaching in the first semester. Applicants must have the Ph.D. in hand and be no more than three years beyond the degree on the application deadline. Application materials include: letter of interest, c.v., sample of scholarly work, three letters of reference, and a 2-page proposal for an interdisciplinary course in the humanities you would like to teach.

Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS) invites researchers to apply for a stay between 1 October
2010 and 30 June 2011 as a Research Fellow (up to nine months) or as a Visiting Scholar (shorter period, e.g. a month).

The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) offers up to four postdoctoral fellowships a year, including one specially designated for researchers from Central and Eastern Europe. Postdoctoral fellows´s projects should relate to the substantive concerns of the institute's research program. There are 4 research areas: Sociology of Market; Institutional Change in Contemporary Capitalism, European Liberalization Policies and Institution Building across Borders. 

European Survey Research Association (ESRA) and the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM) of Universitat Pompeu Fabra organize two day course on desing and evaluation of questionnaires for survey research. The course will be taught by Prof. Willem E. Saris.

Forest and Nature for Society (FONASO) is a three-year world-class global Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate programme. The main objective of the Programme is to educate the leaders of the future generation of researchers, teachers and top management staff working with sustainable forest and nature management, in both tropical and temperate regions, to ensure wider societal benefits. Within forest and nature management, the Programme is focused on the scientific fields of (i) eco-nomics and policy, and (ii) ecology and silviculture. Emphasis is on applied research.

The Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri (a foundation established in 2004 as a joint initiative of the Compagnia di San Paolo and the University of Torino) offers visiting research fellowships to Ph.D.-holding junior and senior scholars for a period varying in duration from a minimum of one month to a maximum of twelve months. Recipients are offered the possibility of carrying out research on a subject of their choosing within the field of economics, finance, political science, and statistics.
