The Centre for Women's Studies and the National Graduate School of Gender Studies invite you to the conference "Past, Present, Future - From Women's Studies to Post-Gender Research" celebrating the 25th anniversary of "Kvinnouniversitetet". The purpose of the conference is to build bridges between generations of researchers in gender studies. The conference will have two branches: The first branch evaluates three decades of theoretical achievements in the field. International and Nordic keynote speakers are invited to reflect on the developments of the last thirty years. The second branch concerns ongoing Ph. D. students' and post-doctoral research projects in the Nordic countries. The conference welcomes presentations of all topics in gender and feminist studies, as well as in related research fields such as men's, gay, lesbian and queer studies. The conference offers different forms for the Ph. D. students to present their work.

This interdisciplinary conference, hosted at the University of Toronto and working in collaboration with the Department of English and the Centre for Diaspora Studies, seeks to bring together academics, artists, cultural workers, and those engaging in activist politics for a sustained discussion of the politics of transnationalism, activism, and art today, seeking not only to establish provisional genealogies for these topics, but also to determine their futures.

Katedra genderových studií Fakulty humanitních studií Karlovy Univerzity v Praze zve na konferenci, která se uskuteční v Praze mezi 9. a 11. březnem 2007.
Jelikož různé koncepty a pojetí generace, mezigeneračních vztahů, konfliktů a solidarity, generace ve vztahu k reprodukci atd. získávají na důležitosti a aktuálnosti a jelikož tyto koncepty nelze vnímat bez vztahu k genderu, vítáme relevantní příspěvky od badatelek a badatelů, akademických pracovníků a pracovnic stejně jako aktivistek či aktivistů na všech úrovních profesionální kariéry.

V současné době se stále více mluví o vlivu gender na formování migračních procesů, zkušenosti migrantů a dopady migrace na cílové populace. Co to znamená, že migrace je genderem podmíněný proces? Proměňuje migrace vnímání genderových vztahů? Jaký vliv má gender na mobilitu akademiků?

On 1-2 December 2006, the Central European Centre for Women and Youth in Science will organise a conference in Prague, Czech Republic, on women in science in Central and Eastern Europe. The Centre is the first regional support project for women and youth in science funded by the EC, and the conference will provide an opportunity to assess the impact of the project and present findings and results. This will be done against the backdrop of recognising the growing significance of the gap between the goals of science policies and programmes and their actual implementation. The conference will discuss for the first time in East-Central Europe current obstacles to successful science policy implementation and discrepancies between the status quo and stated goals concerning gender equality and the position of early stage researchers. This will be done through discussing/disseminating existing research and policy implementation practices.
