The 9th Biennial Conference of European Communities Studies Association – Canada (ECSA-C) will explore how the EU and its member states will deal with these challenges at a time when financial resources are scarce. There will be three best paper awards, which, subject to ECSA-C board approval, will carry cash prizes of $500. The proposed awards are for: Best conference paper; Best paper on EU governance; Best student paper.

The Havighurst Center for Russian & Post-Soviet Studies, Miami University invites for 11th Annual International Young Researchers Conference: “Postcommunist Corruption: Causes, Manifestations, Consequences”. After more than two decades of research on post-communist transformations, a consensus has emerged that corruption is a major phenomenon associated with the evolution of the former “second world.” The purpose of this conference is to explore the analytical, conceptual and comparative dimensions of this phenomenon and to examine recent empirical findings and field work on corruption in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Dr. Andrew Kam-Tuck Yip, University of Nottingham, UK and Dr. Sarah-Jane Page, Durham University, UK invite for the conference Youth, Gender and Sexuality: Contemporary Debates. This conference aims to bring together scholars in the social sciences and humanities who are doing cutting-edge theoretical and/or empirical research on young people‟s lived experiences in relation to gender and/or sexuality in contemporary society.
This deliberately small-scale conference, involving no more than 15 participants, will provide a platform for in-depth and productive dialogue. The organisers intend to publish selected contributions as an edited volume or a special issue for a journal.

In June 2012 will be held in Keele the 7th Gender, Work and Organization conference. Part of it will be a conference stream on Gender in Science Institutions and Knowledge System. The purpose of the stream is to help advance understanding of how gender equality and scientific
quality shape and are shaped by one another. New and young scholars with 'work in progress' papers are welcomed.
