Fakulta humanitních studií Univerzity Karlovy vyzývá k posílání příspěvků na konferenci Reprezentace odlišného těla a monstrozity v interdisciplinární perspektivě, jež je součástí rozsáhlejšího projektu Reprezentace tělesné jinakosti v historické a interdisciplinární perspektivě. Konceptuálně a tematicky je propojena s interdisciplinární mezinárodní konferencí Cripping Neoliberalism: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Governing and Imagining Dis/Ability and Bodily Difference pořádanou FHS UK ve dnech 8.–9. října 2010. Kromě prezentací případových studií se konference soustředí především na teorické přístupy a konceptualizace tělesné jinakosti diskutované v současném zahraničním bádání. Konference je koncipována primárně jako meziooborové studentské a doktorandské fórum.

Institut Cultural Roman (ICR) offers 5 grants for foreign researchers. The programme is dedicated to academic improvement, aiming undergraduate and graduate students (MA and PhD) who prepare their final papers (dissertations, theses). The selection is performed by an independent committee of professionals, based on an application file that must contain, among other papers, a reference letter from the supervisor of the BA or MA dissertation or doctoral thesis.

The documentation and research period have to be ended until December 31st, 2010.Length of the grant is 3 months.

Mezinárodní politologický ústav ve spolupráci s Velvyslanectvím USA v Praze a Komisí J. W. Fulbrighta v České republice vyhlašuje již 5. ročník Česko-americké ceny pro talentované studenty/ky. Hlavní výhrou je odměna ve výši 10 000 Kč a publikace vítězného textu v knižní podobě. Odměněni budou i autoři/ky dalších vybraných textů poukázkami na testy TOEFL či GRE.

The Institute for Advanced Study is an independent private institution founded in 1930 to create a community of scholars focused on intellectual inquiry, free from teaching and other university obligations. Each year up to twenty visiting scholars from around the world are offered a membership for a set period to pursue their own research. The European Cultural Foundation, the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres have officially launched the call for applications for the 2010 Cultural Policy Research Award (CPR) which aims to contribute to new competence building among young scholars in comparative cultural policy research.
The Award should stimulate research on issues that challenge Europe today and stimulate applied and comparative research aspects of European cultural policies.
The ompetition is open to candidates from all European countries; candidates must be able to speak and write in English; be educated to M.A. level in social sciences, art & humanities, or public policy research, and must be no older than 35 at the time of applying.
