    10th POLNET Summer School on the Analysis of Political and Managerial Networks, Germany

    University of Konstanz in cooperation with the University of Tilburg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) announce the 10th POLNET International Summer School on the Analysis of Political and Managerial Networks. It will take place at the New Castle of Meersburg at the Lake Constance, Germany.This seminar is a basic introduction to social network analysis. It is intended for MA/PhD students, as well as researchers and practitioners, interested in theoretically driven empirical research on networks in the social sciences. The aim is to introduce to the analysis of networks who are conducting or planning to conduct quantitative studies of networks in the fields of public policy, management and organisational science.

    The Universities of Bremen and Göttingen (Dept of Politics) and the University of Oxford (Dept of Politics and International Relations & Institute of European and Comparative Law) invite applications from scholars for a number of two-year postdoctoral Fellowships based mainly at the University of Oxford. The Fellowships are open to people of all nationalities who work in the fields of political science, law, history, sociology or economics. The only restriction is that the Fellows should work on the transformation of the modern state (broadly conceived) with a focus on Western Europe and/or European integration.

    Nové kolo Fulbrightových stipendií pro doktorské studium vědy a techniky v USA

    Fulbrightova komise vyhlašuje nové kolo výběrového řízení do programu stipendií pro doktorské studium přírodních věd a technických oborů v USA. Letošní novinkou je rozšíření seznamu oborů také o zemědělství. Cílem pobytu je absolvování celého doktorského programu na americké univerzitě a získání titulu Ph.D. Formulář online přihlášky bude zveřejněn 1. února 2010.

    This prize is awarded in recognition of an outstanding book (or, in even-numbered years, article) on the history of women in science. The book or article may take a biographical, institutional, theoretical, or other approach to the topic, which may include discussions of women¹s activities in science, analyses of past scientific practices that deal explicitly with gender, and investigations regarding women as viewed by scientists.

    International competition for the Stimpson Prize: Call for Papers

    The Catharine Stimpson Prize is designed to recognize excellence and innovation in the work of emerging feminist scholars and is awarded biannually to the best paper in an international competition. Leading feminist scholars from around the globe will select the winner. The prizewinning paper will be published in Signs, and the author will be provided an honorarium of $1,000. All papers submitted for the Stimpson Prize will be considered for peer review and possible publication in /Signs/. Feminist scholars in the early years of their careers (less than seven years since receipt of the terminal degree) are invited to submit papers for the Stimpson Prize. Papers may be on any topic that falls within the broad rubric of interdisciplinary feminist scholarship.
